Momba: A Startup Solution for an Old College Problem

I first came across Momba a couple of months ago, when my friend liked Momba’s Facebook page. What drew me to their page was their unique name and cute logo. I did additional research, and discovered its mission not only to provide convenience to college students, but also to give back to the school by donating a portion of their profits.

Just like all the college dorms across the country, BU has vending machines in each of the dorms, but they only provide us with junk food and soda. Sure, it’s nice when you get the late night munchies, but what if you need some personal hygiene essentials around 2AM when you’re in desperate need of some toiletries? What’s Missing in College: Mom

Let’s all take a moment to be honest with ourselves. In part, we take the mysterious steps into college because we know we’ll enjoy our new-found freedom and independence. But college is missing one big necessity that helps us get through our days. She goes by the name of “Mom.” Fortunately, there’s Momba to step in and help!

Momba is revolutionizing the college experience by providing students with important items anytime of the day, conveniently and safely, in the comfort of their dorms — something neither convenience stores nor moms can do. I’m joining Momba because its mission is something I truly feel passionately about. Having the opportunity to better students’ quality of life is an offer that is hard to pass up. To do this while developing my professional career is just the opportunity I’m looking for.
