A lot of love goes into making Momba machines, in addition to preparing the products we serve. Our aim is to make you feel as though you’re visiting a second Mom away from home. Check out this video on what goes into making a Momba machine. And, if you feel so inclined, ‘Like’ Momba on Facebook, and follow Momba on Twitter!
Countless words are written every year about the college experience. From rising costs to new fads, institutions of higher learning are a unique gathering of young, bright, exploratory individuals, unlike anything or anywhere else in our society. Translated into business terms: a gold mine.
But after one year of college, I’ve been attacked with more coupon books, daily deals, and big box college shopping spree nights than I can bear to stand. What the traditional “college kid-targeted” business proposition fails to do is bring any actual improvement to students’ lives. Momba, however, is different, and that’s what drew me to working with the Momba team to help bring her mission to campuses across the country.
At her core, Momba is all about spreading opportunities to students, a refreshingly new idea for a product aimed at university students. While there’s the obvious of making dorm essentials more conveniently available to students (and quality of life improvements that come along with that), Momba separates herself from the pack by offering so much more. The Momba Student Entrepreneur Program
Momba Entrepreneurs are a vital part of our mission to improve students’ quality of life. As students, Momba Entrepreneurs work independently – with help from Momba – to learn and develop practical business skills through their efforts to shape and grow Momba’s business. The fruits of their work are making a positive impact on their communities and earning performance-based compensation.
By fostering socially-minded entrepreneurship, Momba aims to help enable a new generation of entrepreneurs who believe it’s possible to generate profit while making a positive social impact. And so, we are proud to introduce you to Momba’s first Student Entrepreneurs. As Momba Entrepreneurs, these exceptional individuals have a passion for both entrepreneurship and social good.

And, we plan to offer student social entrepreneurs an opportunity to make good money while making a positive impact on their immediate communities.
A former dirty college kid on financial aid cleans up
Once upon a time, I was a dirty college kid on financial aid, who was awake at all sorts of weird hours of the day, as my former roommates will attest. Incidentally, I also often exposed myself to a lot of unnecessary danger by wandering campus and neighboring areas, especially when I needed essential items like toiletries and/or clean undergarments (you can probably guess that I wasn’t super religious about doing my laundry).
In my late-night college wanderings, I saw that I wasn’t the only one awake. Whether for studying, partying or just hanging out, people away at school are awake at all hours of the day. Not only that, they also often need things at all hours of the day. Even when it’s daytime, the thought of dropping what you’re doing and leaving your dorm to buy essential items can seem daunting and time-consuming. In the grand scheme of dorm life, taking care of oneself often falls lower and lower on a growing priority list.
And that’s where Momba comes in. Continue reading
